The call for entries is now closed for the 2023 McDonald’s Spotlight Dorado short film contest. Thank you for submitting! Our judges are now reading and evaluating your scripts. For updates on the finalists, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from their short films, and a chance to vote for your favorite short film, sign up below.
Program Timeline*
- April 22 Open call / Application launches
- June 10 Deadline to apply
- June 10 – July 10 Application selection process (~ 5 weeks)
- July 18 Ten (10) Semi-finalists are notified
- August 8 Three (3) Finalists are notified and meet the Mentors
- August 15 21- Pre-production begins / Production / Post-production / Mentorship sessions
- November 14 Final Delivery of Completed short film
- November (Date TBC) Films are distributed on SpotlightDorado.com for consumers to vote for their favorite film
- December (Date TBC) Screening Showcase and Favorite Film Winner is announced
The three (3) finalist films will be showcased during a Screening in December 2022. Exact date and location of Screening will be announced at a later date.
