Episode 1: Kicking off at SXSW
After an incredible first year, Spotlight Dorado came back bigger than ever with the launch of season two at SXSW! In attendance was our 2022 Grand Prize winner, Jesus Celaya, who spoke about what this film competition means to rising Latino and Hispanic filmmakers and storytellers. As Jesus noted, “this is only the beginning.”
Episode 2: “We are excited to let you know…”
With these magical words, 10 talented filmmakers from across the U.S. learned they had made it to the next round of Spotlight Dorado 2023. Meet the semifinalists and check out a few of the amazing entries we received this year!
Episode 3: A battery of tests (and other red herrings)
Kryzz Gautier, Pablo Riesgo and Marissa Díaz were in for a little misdirection when they arrived at Red Studios in Hollywood along with other “contestants” (actors) in the running for this year’s competition. Here’s the moment they learned they were this year’s Spotlight Dorado finalists.
Episode 4: A bag full of goodies and a room full of wisdom
Our finalists begin the most exciting phase of Spotlight Dorado, and perhaps the most important chapter of their filmmaking careers, with a goodie bag and a kickoff meeting with Production Consultant Ben López and other mentors. It’s go time!
